Gerard Martin O'Brien and Edwina Piercy have been involved in very many publishing projects  as writers, editors, designers and producers and have worked with the University of Ireland, Galway and other national institutions . In 2002, they decided to create their own imprint- Blue Horse Press (Ireland)- in order to manage and promote their own individual productions and in particular Gerard's books. His work is very much centred on the history of Ireland and he  writes historical novels as well as producing a recent work on the local history of 'The Glen' in Cork City.

They are based in the West of Ireland.
